Digital Downsides in Teacher Education

This paper is particularly relevant in the context of a global pandemic when majority teaching conducted online or hybrid environment that requires long hours front screen. Online becoming increasingly important throughout education, and our findings draw attention to some challenges possible pitfalls extensive use digital technologies and, consequently, implications for teacher education. In paper, we explore student teachers’ perceptions downsides, their tools self-efficacy, resilience distractions, physical discomfort from technology. We aim identify these four concepts examine whether how they interconnect. A cross-sectional design was used analyse data 561 first-year teachers enrolled two education programmes universities Norway 2019. The indicate distractions decreases higher level reported technology increases perceived downsides technologies. Overall, 38% variation within can be explained by concepts, as well study programme attended.
